We have measured these changes by analyzing the rackets of active pro players, generation by generation. The results are very significant. Firstly, the weight of rackets is lower: Next Gen players use frames that are, on average, 18g lighter than older players. Additionally, swing weights are decreasing with a difference of 20 points between these two generations. To sum up, the game is moving towards more maneuverable rackets because players have less time to react and need to accelerate their rackets more quickly to generate power.
